Braulio Pioquinto of Poway Dies in DUI Crash on El Camino Real [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (September 25, 2021) – On Tuesday, Braulio Pioquinto, a 21-year-old Poway man, suffered injuries in a DUI crash on El Camino Real.

The accident took place at about 3 p.m. north of Cristianitos Road.

Investigating officers said an 18-year-old woman from Yucca Valley, was southbound in a silver Dodge Journey. Suddenly, her vehicle swerved to the right and collided with two parked cars. 

Emergency responders rushed Pioquinto, the passenger, to a hospital in Orange County, where he died on Thursday.

Rescuers rushed the driver to a hospital for minor injuries. The authorities arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. 

Later on, she posted bail and officers released her from jail before Pioquinto died.

Meanwhile, the authorities have not yet determined whether she would face arrest or charges arising from Pioquinto’s death.
