34-Year-Old Bicyclist Fatally Injured on Palm Avenue Near Third Street
HIGHLAND, CA (January 19, 2018) – Redlands resident Brandon Mayberry, 34, was hit and killed by a vehicle while bike riding on Saturday evening around 7:25 PM.
A 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 46-year-old Thomas Youngwirth of Highland, was travelling north on Palm Avenue approaching Third Street, when it struck the bicyclist. Mayberry was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Monday evening, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This fatal accident is being investigated by Sheriff’s Department Region I Major Accident Investigations Team.
