1 Person Hurt in Lompoc Pedestrian Accident on Highway 246 near Sweeney Road
LOMPOC, CA (October 10, 2023) – Saturday night, Bradley Blackwell sustained injuries after an alarming pedestrian crash on Highway 246 near Sweeney Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Sienna struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross Highway 246 into the path of the vehicle. Then, the force of the crash propelled the victim over the guard rail.
As a result, paramedics airlifted the victim, 47-year-old Blackwell of Lompoc, to Marian Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.
Moreover, the van’s driver, 73-year-old Kathleen Hacker, sustained no injuries in the crash.
Furthermore, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
