Patrick Scrivener Dies in Multi-Vehicle Collision on US 287
Childress, TX (June 3, 2023) On Thursday morning, a tragic crash on U.S. 287, killed Patrick Scrivener, Bradley and Sheri Nevil.
DPS says that the deadly multi-vehicle collision happened around 10 a.m. on US 287.
Reports say that a 2019 Subaru Ascent, a 2016 Ford Escape, a 2016 Mack truck towing a semi-trailer and a 2013 Kenworth truck towing a semi-trailer were involved in the fatal collision.
Officials say that the Kenworth truck, driven by 47-year-old Vicente Barcenas of Perryton, failed to slow down and collided with the back of the Ford, driven by 54-year-old Patrick Scrivener of Troup. The impact of the collision, caused a chain reaction of events that lead to the tragic crash.
Authorities say that the Ford and the Subaru, occupied by 68-year-old Bradley Nevil, and 61-year-pld Sheri Nevil, both of McKinney, were wedged between both big rigs. All involved vehicles ended up in the right shoulder of the northwest lane.
Officials pronounced Scrivener and the Nevils dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Barcenas suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Childress Regional Medical Center.
Officials say that the Mack driver escaped injuries.
