Teenage Boys Hurt in Tragic UTV Crash Near Sandstone Trail [Union, MO]

Union, MO (October 4, 2024) On Tuesday afternoon, a 13-year-old boy was killed while 2 other teens were hurt in a tragic UTV crash near Sandstone Trail.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the fatal crash happened at about 6 p.m. near Sandstone Trail.

Reports say that 3 13-year-olds were riding a Polaris Ranger UTV in a field when the driver failed to make a left turn, causing the vehicle to overturn. The 13-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that UTVs must be operated by licensed drivers on public roads, but there are no age restrictions for operating them on private property. The other two teens involved in the crash are expected to recover from their injuries.
