Late Evening Rollover Crash on 8 Freeway in Boulevard Leaves One Dead
BOULEVARD, CA (February 5, 2019) – A woman was killed following a rollover crash late Tuesday evening on a snowy 8 Freeway in Boulevard.
The fatal crash happened around 10:55 p.m. just East of Crestwood Road and Live Oak Springs exit, near the Golden Acorn Casino.
According to initial reports, an unknown vehicle had overturned and landed on its side with a female occupant underneath it. Multiple vehicles pulled off the road near the crash site, and several of the motorists called 911.
CHP officers requested personnel from the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. Responding emergency crews attempted life-saving measures on the woman, but the unidentified victim was declared dead.
The freeway’s left lane was shut down for the on-scene investigation.
CHP officers at the scene reported that it was snowing and requested Caltrans crews to respond to the scene to help deal with the icy road.
It was unclear if the poor weather conditions contributed to the deadly crash. No other information was immediately available.
