Two People Injured in Possible DUI Accident on Interstate 405 near State Route 527
BOTHELL, WA (February 17, 2018) – Two people were hospitalized after a two-car collision on Interstate 405 near State Route 527 on Saturday afternoon.
A 20-year-old Everett man was driving in a Mercedes SUV in the northbound lanes, when he rear-ended a Lexus SUV. The Lexus went off the road and over a ditch, where it rolled over. The Mercedes came to a rest on the right shoulder of the highway.
The two people in the Lexus, a 57-year-old female driver and a man in his 20s, were injured and rushed to a local hospital. The man and his female passenger in the Mercedes were not injured in the crash. Officials suspect that the driver was intoxicated, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Heather Axtman. The suspected drunk driver was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault.
The female driver of the Lexus was listed in good condition at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, as of Sunday. The passenger, a man in his 20s was discharged from the same hospital after treatment on Saturday night.
