Morning Crash on Highway 95 in Blythe Ends in Fatality
BLYTHE, CA (December 17, 2018) – A man was killed following a traffic collision Monday morning in Blythe, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened around 9:19 a.m. on Highway 95 at 4th Avenue.
CHP officials said a tractor-trailer hauling 72,000 pounds of wire went into a water-filled canal. A male driver was still inside the truck when authorities arrived.
Life-saving measures were performed on the man, but unsuccessful. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors of the crash. Further investigation of this tragic incident is underway.
