Motorcyclist Airlifted After Collision with SUV in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (July 19, 2019) — A motorcycle rider suffered injuries in a collision on Roy Rogers Drive Wednesday night.
Officials said the motorcyclist crashed into the back of a silver BMW SUV past 10:00 p.m. just east of Civic Drive. A witness informed the police that the rider was traveling west on Roy Rogers Drive when he slammed into the back of the SUV.
The Victorville City Fire personnel who responded to the incident found the biker in traffic lanes and bleeding profusely from his left arm. This prompted the firefighters to request a helicopter to land at Victor Valley Global Medical Center. The helicopter airlifted the biker to an out-of-area trauma center.
The man driving the BMW remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. He was not injured. The BMW had damage to its rear bumper area.
The Victorville Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
