Disastrous Bike Collision on Division Avenue Injures 11-Year-Old Boy [Ephrata, WA]

Reckless Driver Causes Injury to Minor in Traffic Accident on Alder Street

Ephrata, WA (July 21, 2023) On Wednesday afternoon, an 11-year-old boy was hurt after getting hit by a car in a bike collision on Division Avenue.

According to the Ephrata Police Department (EPD) the traffic accident happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Division Avenue and Alder Street.

Reports say that a 94-year-old male driver was turning from Alder Street when he struck a boy on a bicycle crossing in a crosswalk.

Authorities cited the driver for failure to yield and driving with no insurance. Police says that the driver did not completely stop at the intersection before turning causing the crash.

Meanwhile, the young bicyclist suffered minor injuries.

Follow Traffic Rules

When driving, it is important to follow all driving laws and the conditions of the road. If you see any vehicle or driver that looks dangerous, keep your distance.

If you see a vehicle weaving in and out of the lanes, following too closely, or traveling at a higher rate of speed, move over a few lanes and get out of their way.

Drive defensively to ensure the safety of surrounding vehicles, drivers, and pedestrians.

Injured in a Traffic Collision

The United States Department of Transportation (DOT), says that there are approximately 300,000 merging accidents annually. It is therefore important to follow all the traffic laws to avoid these types of accidents like the bike collision on Division Avenue.

“A common misconception is that personal injury lawyers don’t care. That is simply not true. Injury lawyers care about and want justice for their clients. We are driven by the desire to make our clients whole again,” says Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers, an attorney practicing for over 40 years.

Moreover, the most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash similar to the traffic accident on Alder Street, is hiring a personal injury attorney. Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers, says that serious car accident cases may call for a separate investigation spearheaded by an experienced lawyer fighting on behalf of a party.
