Semi Truck Driver Hurt in Auburn Crash on 80 Freeway near Maple Street

 
AUBURN, CA (January 20, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a big rig driver suffered injuries in an accident on the 80 Freeway near Maple Street.
 
According to reports, the injury crash involving two vehicles happened at 7:10 a.m. David Martinez, CHP Auburn public information officer, revealed that the big rig carrying track was in the right lane.
 
However, a black sedan to the left of the truck steered into it. Then, the big rig veered off the road, rolled onto an embankment, and overturned.
 
As a result, the semi truck driver suffered minor injuries. Thus, responders took the driver to an area hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the CHP confirmed that diesel fuel leaked in the road. Fortunately, it was immediately contained within the traffic lanes and didn’t spill into any drains.
 
Furthermore, the crash led to traffic delays because the truck blocked two eastbound lanes. Moreover, the authorities used the center divide lane to let traffic through.
 
By 2:14 p.m., all lanes of the eastbound 80 Freeway have reopened.
