Multi-Vehicle Car Crash in Pleasant Grove
PLEASANT GROVE, CA (March 29, 2019) – Multiple vehicles were involved in a big rig accident on Highway 99 Friday morning.
Officials reported the crash occurred around 6:25 AM on Highway 99 near Sankey Road, north of Sacramento.
A total of three cars were involved in the collision. The 18-wheeler involved caught on fire. First responders and a citizen pulled the male driver out of the burning vehicle.
The driver was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. There is no update on his current medical status.
California Highway Patrol stated that there was a four car pileup caused by drivers looking at the fire. Due to the collision, south and northbound lanes were closed at Sankey Road for a period of time. As a result, there was major delays.
It is unknown if other occupants were injured in the accident. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
