1 Dead in Yermo Vehicle Crash on Southbound 15 Freeway

YERMO, CA (June 7, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, a horrific big rig accident on the southbound 15 Freeway killed 1 person.

The incident happened at 5:47 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway, just east of the unincorporated county community of Yermo.

Emergency crews responded to the severe crash involving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and two big rigs near Barstow. According to reports, one individual was found inside the Silverado with major injuries and weak life signs. Despite paramedics’ efforts, the victim was declared dead at the scene at 6:14 p.m.

Witnesses reported that both big rigs involved in the crash appeared damaged. Authorities are seeking any additional information from witnesses or those with knowledge of the incident.
