Woman Injured in El Cajon Bicycle Accident
EL CAJON, CA (March 27, 2019) – A female bicyclist in her 40s was hospitalized after being struck by an SUV in El Cajon Saturday evening.
El Cajon Police Lt. Jason Taub said that the bicyclist was riding against a red light in a southerly direction in the crosswalk of Cuyamaca Street. She was struck by a 2017 Chevrolet SUV which was traveling in the westbound lane on Fletcher Parkway.
The woman was found unresponsive on the street by officers and paramedics dispatched to the scene at 6:25 p.m. She was rushed to a local trauma center with major injuries, Taub said. The 53-year-old male driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
