Woman Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Collision near Haley Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 24, 2018) – A bicyclist was hospitalized late Tuesday evening after she was struck by a car on Monterey Street.
As per reports, the crash took place shortly after 10:00 PM. The victim was riding her bicycle in the area of Haley Street and Monterey Street when a vehicle clipped her back tire.
Bakersfield Police and paramedics arrived at the scene to render aid to the injured bicyclist. She was then transported to a local hospital where she received treatment for her minor injuries. Her identity and city of residence were not immediately available.
Authorities confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the collision. The driver of the first vehicle continued driving away from the collision. Meanwhile, the second driver remained at the scene after they struck the victim’s bicycle.
