John Godinez Arrested after Fatal Bicycle Accident near Industrial Drive
RIALTO, CA (June 11, 2019) – A Riverside bicyclist was struck and killed by a DUI driver on Riverside Avenue, Tuesday evening. Authorities withheld the identity of the 34-year-old victim, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Rialto Police Department, the incident happened near Industrial Drive, at about 6:52 PM. A silver Toyota Solara was heading southbound at a high rate of speed when it struck a westbound bicyclist.
Emergency responders pronounced the unidentified bicyclist dead at the scene. Meanwhile, officers arrested the Toyota driver, identified as 32-year-old John Godinez of Hesperia. Then, they booked him into a Rancho Cucamonga jail on a DUI charge.
