Homeless Man on Bicycle Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Berkeley Avenue, Major Injuries Sustained
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 25, 2019) – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver late Friday evening in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. in the 3000 block of Berkeley Avenue.
CHP officials said a 57-year-old homeless man was riding his bicycle in the area when a car hit him. As a result, the victim suffered major injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital for proper treatment.
The Los Angeles Police Department said the driver fled the scene and remains at large. The suspect vehicle was described as a red newer model Mini Cooper with a white roof. Investigators say it likely has extensive damage to the front.
Authorities offered a $25,000 reward for information which leads to an arrest. Further investigation is underway.
