Bicycle Accident on Gerber Road in Sacramento, Major Injuries Sustained
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 23, 2019) – A bicyclist was injured after being hit by a vehicle Thursday morning in Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 11:42 a.m., at 7960 Gerber Road. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
CHP officials found the bicyclist with severe leg injuries after being struck by an unidentified vehicle. Paramedics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
Sacramento firefighters blocked the second lane of the roadway while they cleared the wreckage. The roadway was later cleared shortly after 12:00 p.m.
No information was provided if the car’s driver remained or fled after the crash. It is also unknown whether any charges were filed, as liability has not yet been determined.
The incident still currently remains under investigation.
