1 Dead in Bellevue Bicycle Accident on 8th Street
BELLEVUE, WA (March 25, 2020) – A bicycle accident on 8th Street in Bellevue left the cyclist dead on March 22.
Reports from the authorities revealed that the driver involved was allegedly turning left when the accident occurred.
Officers and medics came to the crash scene after they received reports of a fatal accident. The incident happened at around 4:00 p.m. on NE 8th Street and Northup Way intersection.
When the authorities arrived, they located the 63-year-old male bicyclist from Newcastle at the crash scene with severe injuries. Medical responders took the elderly bicyclist to the hospital. However, he was declared dead upon his arrival at the hospital.
As of this time, there are no further details about the driver involved in the fatal crash.
Meanwhile, the authorities shut down the intersection for multiple hours while crews investigated at the scene. These closed roads have since reopened.
