Biker Fatally Struck by Vehicles on Highway 1 in Davenport
DAVENPORT, CA (May 23, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed following a traffic collision Thursday evening in Davenport.
The fatal incident took place around 9:44 p.m., on Highway 1. Dispatchers arrived near Cement Plant Road shortly after.
According to an initial report, the bicyclist was struck by at least five vehicles, including a blue Toyota Prius and a gold Ford Fusion.
Officers arrived on the scene and confirmed one fatality as a result of the collision.
The northbound traffic on Highway 1 near Cement Plant Road was greatly impacted after the crash and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. The incident still currently remains under investigation.
