Possible Medical Issue Causes Fatal Bicycle Crash in Discovery Bay

 
DISCOVERY BAY, CA (June 18, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed in an accident Tuesday afternoon in Discovery Bay.
 
The accident was reported at 4:42 p.m. on Bixler Road, just between Newport Drive and Regatta Drive.
 
Fire crews responded to the scene and performed CPR on the bicyclist. An ambulance unit was then requested and took the patient to hospital, where the victim was declared dead.
 
According to an initial report, the bicyclist may have suffered a possible medical issue causing the individual to lose control of the bike and hit some garbage cans.
 
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. An investigation is still ongoing.
