Fatal Bicycle Accident on Yorktown Avenue near Vasile Circle in Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach, California (April 3, 2020) – Wednesday night, an unidentified bicyclist was fatally struck in a crash on Yorktown Avenue.
Police first received reports around 8:00 p.m. Emergency personnel arrived near Yorktown Avenue and Vasile Circle, shortly after.
According to reports, the 46-year-old unidentified driver of the vehicle remained in his silver 2016 Honda Pilot near the scene. In addition, the cyclist was found unresponsive down on the roadway.
Officers later said the bicyclist endured major internal injuries, before he was later pronounced dead. However, they did not release the victim’s identity due to pending family notification.
Moreover, the surrounding area on Yorktown Avenue was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
Furthermore, HB Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them as soon as possible. Once available, more details will be given.
