Male Bicyclist Dies after Crash on Murphy and Ringwood Avenues in San Jose

San Jose, CA (September 16, 2022) – Sunday night, a bicyclist died in a crash with a 2017 Lexus sedan on Murphy and Ringwood avenues.

The fatal crash in San Jose happened at around 9:49 p.m. on September 11.

San Jose Police said a man was riding an electric bicycle eastbound in the No. 1 lane of Murphy when he came to a stop at the intersection despite having a green light. A 2017 Lexus sedan traveling in the same direction and lane then rear-ended the bicycle.

The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

Meanwhile, EMS took the bicyclist to a hospital with moderate injuries, and was stabilized.

However, on Wednesday, the man suffered complications related to his injuries from the crash and died.
