Pickup Truck Involved in Fatal Collision near Reese Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 11, 2018) – A bicyclist was killed early Tuesday morning following a crash on Gerber Road. The deceased victim’s identity was not immediately available, pending notification of next of kin.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 6:00 AM near Reese Road. A red Toyota pickup truck struck the victim, causing critical injuries.
Medics arrived at the scene to find the injured bicyclist on the road. The victim later succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead by emergency responders. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Eastbound Gerber Road in the area was blocked, while officials conducted an investigation. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. No additional information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
