Bicyclist Injured after Crash with SUV in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 9, 2019) — A 22-year-old bicyclist was injured after crashing with an SUV in an accident on Eastgate Mall Road on Thursday, September 5.
At around 7:40 p.m., the female bicyclist rode east in the 4400 block of Eastgate Mall Road. Then she veered from a bike lane into the crosswalk to ride north. After that, she turned in front of an eastbound vehicle, San Diego Police Department Sgt. Michael Tansey stated.
Then the Honda Pilot driven by a 36-year-old woman struck her, according to Tansey.
Emergency responder rushed the rider to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities do not consider drugs or alcohol as a factor in this incident.
