78-Year-Old Man Hurt after San Diego SUV Collision on Loma Riviera Drive
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 5, 2019) – A 78-year-old male cyclist was hurt in an SUV collision on Loma Riviera Drive on Tuesday, September 3.
According to San Diego Police Sgt. Michael Tansey, the crash happened at around 5:55 p.m. in the 3000 block of Loma Riviera Drive.
The cyclist traveled eastbound in the 4100 block of Loma Riviera Lane, approaching the intersection with Loma Riviera Drive. Then he crashed into a southbound silver 2017 Subaru SUV driven by a 65-year-old man.
The bicyclist entered the intersection without yielding and hit the vehicle, Tansey said.
The impact ejected the rider and he suffered serious injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the SUV stopped and cooperated with investigators, according to Tansey.
