CHP Investigates Bicycle Crash on Highway 101

San Luis Obispo, CA (September 26, 2024) – A traffic crash on Highway 101 involving a vehicle and a bicyclist partially blocked the northbound lanes near State Route 1 just after noon. 

The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page reported that the crash occurred north of the Highway 1 junction around 12:13 p.m.

Initial reports stated that the vehicle collided with the bicyclist, leaving the bicycle trapped under the car. 

The roadway was partially obstructed as emergency crews responded. CHP confirmed that units were en route by 12:17 p.m.

By 12:27 p.m., Caltrans reported that the roadway was clear, though crews remained on site. 

An air ambulance was initially requested but later canceled as the bicyclist sustained only minor injuries.
