14-Year-Old Rider Hurt in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Collision on Wilmington Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 27, 2019) – A teenager suffered critical injuries in a hit-and-run collision on Wilmington Avenue on Saturday, June 22.
Officers responded to the report of a hit-and-run accident shortly before 10 p.m. in the 6800 block of Wilmington Avenue near 68th Street. The driver was nowhere to be found.
A witness discovered the severely injured victim in the roadway. He said that he saw a speeding vehicle traveling on Wilmington Avenue. It was in the direction that he found the victim, according to the police.
Although the witness did not see the actual incident, police believe the speeding car was the vehicle that hit the teenager.
The bicyclist remains in critical condition, police said on Wednesday.
Detectives are continuing their investigation about the crash.
