Bicyclist Hospitalized after Hit-And-Run Crash on Quintana Road in San Antonio

San Antonio, TX (February 10, 2023) – Police are still looking for the suspect(s) after a hit-and-run crash on Quintana Road injuring a bicyclist.

The hit-and-run crash in San Antonio happened on January 30.

San Antonio Police said the victim was riding his bike with working red and white lights going southbound. 

An unknown silver SUV and a gray VW Passat were street racing at a high rate of speed down the same road.

The Passat then switched back to the other lane in an attempt to overtake the SUV. Unfortunately, the victim was riding his bike in front of the VIA bus and the Passat hit him.

The victim was thrown off the bicycle and landed on the roadway. Other cars on the road had to stop in order to avoid running over the victim.

The victim suffered a compound fracture that will require surgery to repair the bone.

The driver of the Passat and the driver of the SUV never slowed down and fled the scene. The VW Passat has a silver sticker on the right rear trunk that reads “4.20”.
