Victim Hurt in Los Angeles Bicycle Accident near 1st Street

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 9, 2020) – On Monday evening, an unidentified bicyclist suffered injuries in a DUI accident on Eastman Avenue.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision at around 7:45 p.m., on April 6. Dispatchers arrived in the northbound lanes of Eastman Avenue near 1st Street.
 
Authorities located the bicycle rider lying on the road upon arrival. A black Honda Accord reportedly struck the rider. However, further details leading up to the incident remain unclear.
 
Paramedics took the injured bicyclist to a nearby hospital for further treatment of major injuries.
 
Despite the fact that the crash remains under active investigation, police already noted that the driver of the Honda was under the influence at the time of the accident.
 
The surrounding area on Eastman Avenue was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened.
