1 Injured in San Diego Bicycle Accident on University Avenue near College Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 15, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a bicyclist sustained injuries in a crash on University Avenue near College Avenue.
According to San Diego police Sgt. Kevin Gibson, the incident happened at around 5:05 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on University Avenue, a few blocks west of College Avenue.
Reports revealed that a vehicle attempted to pass a slow-moving vehicle. Then, it struck a bicyclist passing the same slow-moving vehicle.
Moreover, responders rushed the 51-year-old bicyclist to a hospital for treatment. Authorities said that the victim was not expected to survive.
Furthermore, the 21-year-old vehicle driver sustained no injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, the San Diego Police Department’s traffic division continues to investigate the crash.
