SAN JOSE, CA (September 23, 2019) — A bicyclist suffered injuries in a collision with a train at Sierra Road and North Capitol Avenue Friday night.
 
The authorities said the cyclist was transported to a hospital after colliding with a VTA train. He had a head trauma but was breathing and conscious as per VTA officials.
 
The accident prompted the suspension of train service in both directions. A bus bridge replaced the 901 line service between Hostetter and Berryessa stations in the meantime.
 
Just like the open road, train tracks can be very dangerous to be around. It is important to abide by all railroad crossings and to never enter train tracks when an oncoming train is approaching. If for some reason an issue occurs near train tracks, be sure to contact authorities to assist.
