1 Injured in Heber Hit-and-Run Crash on Ware Road and Fawcett Road

 
HEBER, CA (February 17, 2021) – Friday night, a 27-year-old Calexico bicyclist suffered injuries in an accident on Ware Road and Fawcett Road.
 
The hit-and-run crash occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on February 12. A vehicle struck the bicyclist riding north of Ware Road south of Fawcett Road, near the feedlots of El Toro Land & Cattle Co.
 
The Imperial County Fire Department crews responded and rendered aid. Also, a Mercy Air helicopter came to the scene to airlift the victim and provide treatment of blunt-force trauma.
 
The authorities issued a “BOLO,” or a law enforcement-issued advisory to be on the lookout for a suspect vehicle. However, they only described the suspect vehicle as a car with front-end damage and had a missing headlamp. The BOLO took in effect to Calexico and El Centro police departments and Imperial County Sheriff’s Department.
 
Moreover, the authorities said that they will review video surveillance at nearby homes and El Toro Land & Cattle.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the condition of the bicyclist.
 
Furthermore, the authorities continue to investigate the collision.
