Bike Collision at Southwest Sunset Boulevard Intersection

 
RENTON, WA (July 24, 2018) – A bicyclist was critically injured in an accident on South 3rd Street, early Tuesday morning. The injured victim’s name and place of residence were not revealed by authorities.
 
The crash occurred at around 6:00 AM at the intersection of S 3rd Street at SW Sunset Boulevard. Police officials and emergency personnel arrived responded to the scene to find the injured bicyclist in the road.
 
He was rushed to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. No additional information on his current medical condition was immediately announced.
 
Preliminary investigation revealed that the car drove through the intersection and struck the bicyclist at a low speed – about 4 to 6 mph. However, the impact was still enough to throw the rider off the bike. The intersection was closed off at the scene by authorities after the accident. No further details have been disclosed to the public at this time.
