Woman Killed in Bicycle Collision near Bay Meadows Road

 
CRESCENT CITY, CA (July 29, 2018) – A woman was killed Sunday evening after her bicycle was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Lake Earl Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at approximately 8:45 PM near Bay Meadows Road. A female bicyclist was heading south along the right shoulder when a vehicle struck her from behind.
 
The impact ejected the woman from her bicycle, and she sustained critical injuries. She was rushed to the Sutter Coast Hospital where she was pronounced dead by medical staff. Her identity and city of residence were not immediately available.
 
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the involved vehicle fled from the scene. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the driver, or information about the vehicle ,is encouraged to contact CHP Crescent City Area office at (707) 464-3117.
