Bicyclist Fatally Injured in Crash on Magnolia Avenue and Jackson Street [Riverside, CA]

1 Killed and 2 Hospitalized after Riverside Crash on Magnolia Avenue

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (July 9, 2020) – On Monday night, a crash involving a motorcycle on Magnolia Avenue fatally injured a bicyclist.
 
The incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. on Magnolia Avenue, just east of Jackson Street, the Riverside Police Department reported.
 
According to Sgt. Ryan Wilson, a 54-year-old Corona man rode his Harley Davidson west on Magnolia Avenue. However, a bicycle rider went directly in front of the motorcycle.
 
Reports revealed that the bicyclist tried to ride across the four-lane corridor from north to south. Furthermore, crosswalks are not available nearby.
 
As a result, the motorcycle crashed into the bicyclist. The bicycle rider succumbed to severe injuries at the scene. However, the identity of the deceased remains unreleased due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the motorcycle rider and his passenger to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
Due to the crash, the authorities shut down part of Magnolia Avenue for several hours during the investigation.
