Bicyclist Dies in Shaw Avenue SUV Collision [Fesno, CA]

Officers Respond to Fatal Collision on Hayes Avenue

Fresno, CA (June 22, 2022) – On Thursday, just before 9 p.m., a bicycle rider sustained fatal injuries in a Shaw Avenue SUV collision.

The authorities responded to the crash scene at the intersection with Hayes Avenue which also involved an SUV.

When they arrived, the authorities found a man possibly in his late 20s to early 30s lying in the intersection. 

Immediately, the paramedics provided first aid and CPR. However, the victim died.

According to the investigators, the eastbound SUV was approaching the intersection of Hayes Avenue which has a stop sign.

Apparently, the bicyclist was about to stop on Hayes Avenue. However, the man continued in the path of the SUV and was struck.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers’ investigation. Officers say the SUV had children inside during the accident.

Moreover, officers say they do not believe alcohol and drugs as factors but still investigating the fatal collision on Hayes Avenue.

The authorities say it is unknown if the bicyclist was wearing any protective gear during the accident.
