Man Injured and Hospitalized after Bicycle Collision near Belmont Avenue
FRESNO, CA (October 20, 2018) – A man was hospitalized Saturday evening following a bicycle crash on North Marks Avenue. The identity and place of residence of the victim were not disclosed to the public at this time.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 9:15 PM near Belmont Avenue. A bicyclist was traveling along Marks Avenue when he was hit by a Ford pickup truck.
The victim received CPR from emergency crews before he was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Further updates on his current medical condition were not provided. Meanwhile, the 90-year-old pickup driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. It was also noted that the bicyclist was seen riding in and out of the roadway before the collision. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
