Violent Bicycle Accident on Willow Road Seriously Hurt Man [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (February 9, 2024) On Thursday, a 30-year-old man riding his bike was seriously injured in a bicycle accident on Willow Road.

According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), the head-on collision happened around 5:41 p.m. on 200 Willow Road in the San Ysidro neighborhood.

Reports say that a borthbound 1996 Honda Accord, driven by a 20-year-old man, and struck the bicycle rider head-on. Officials say that the bicyclist was going southbound on the east sidewalk of 200 Willow Road rode off the sidewalk and into the northbound lane.

Medics say that the rider sustained an open right femur fracture, a fractured hand, a laceration above the right eye, a concussion and two teeth were knocked out. The Honda driver and passenger were able to escape injuries.
