1 Dead in San Diego Multi-Vehicle Accident on State Route 76 near Magee Road

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 31, 2023) – Monday night, a fatal multi-vehicle crash on State Route 76 led to the arrest of Bianca Anahy Hernandez.

The incident happened at around 9:00 p.m. on State Route 76 near Magee Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol Public Affairs Officer Hunter Gerber, an eastbound Toyota Camry lost control for still unknown reasons. Then, the Toyota veered towards the westbound lanes and collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe, a Jeep Laredo, and a Lexus GS-350.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the 65-year-old female driver of the Lexus died at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the Camry driver, Anahy Hernandez of Pauma Valley, to a hospital with unknown injuries. Also, officials confirmed that a Toyota passenger and a Jeep occupant sustained minor to moderately serious injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested and booked the suspect into county jail in Vista on suspicion of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information became available, the public will be notified.
