Charter Bus Hits Motorcycle on 80 Freeway in Berkeley, Major Injuries Sustained
BERKELEY, CA (November 30, 2018) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a bus Friday afternoon in Berkeley.
The crash happened around 3:33 p.m. on westbound 80 Freeway at University Avenue off-ramp.
According to the CHP, a white charter bus hit a motorcycle, sending the rider down on the first lane. Firefighters responded to the scene and located the rider with major injuries.
Emergency crews also arrived and took the badly injured rider to a hospital. The condition of the patient was not immediately available.
The bus stopped in the center divider after the crash.
The first and second lanes of the freeway were blocked by firefighters while they worked on the scene.
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. Further investigation is underway.
