Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on South Houghton Road in Tucson
TUCZON, AZ (October 5, 2019) – A 43-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Tucson.
Police identified the man as Benjamin Secor.
Around 2:00 p.m., Secor was riding his motorcycle northbound on South Houghton Road waiting to make a left turn onto East 22nd Street.
When the light turned green, Secor made his turn directly in front of a southbound Jeep Wrangler, authorities said.
The Jeep collided with the motorcycle and both vehicles ended up on the southwest corner of the intersection.
Tucson firefighters render aid to Secor, but he died at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep remained on scene and did not show signs of impairment, police said.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash, and no citations have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
We express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Benjamin Secor during this time of grief.
