Corona Fatal Bicycle Crash on Rimpau Avenue
CORONA, CA (June 14, 2020) – Late Friday night, 21-year-old Benjamin Montalvo died in a bicycle accident on Rimpau Avenue.
According to reports, a motorist struck and killed Montalvo. Afterward, the driver escaped the crash scene.
More specifically, at around 11:50 p.m., the hit-and-run vehicle struck Benjamin Montalvo, of Corona.
The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Rimpau Avenue, near Olympic Drive.
Officer David Dopson later revealed that Benjamin Montalvo rode with two friends south on Rimpau Avenue. Then, a dark-colored sedan crashed into him from behind.
“The driver continued southbound, failing to stop to render aid to the victim,” Dopson revealed.
When the paramedics arrived at the crash scene, they declared Mr. Montalvo dead.
Shortly after, Neomi Velado, 22, turned herself in for the hit-and-run.
There is no further information at this time.
