16-Year-Old Killed in Helendale ATV Crash on Helendale Road and Blue Water Road

 
HELENDALE, CA (October 19, 2022) – Friday afternoon, Benjamin Chavez died in an ATV accident on Helendale Road and Blue Water Road.
 
The incident happened at around 12:23 p.m. on Helendale Road and Blue Water Road.
 
Reports revealed that an eastbound 2005 Suzuki Quadsport failed to stop and collided with a southbound 2019 Thomas Type 1 school bus occupied by 37 people.
 
Moreover, responders confirmed that the ATV driver, 16-year-old Benjamin T. Chavez, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Also, the 59-year-old male driver of the bus sustained minor injuries in the collision but was not transported to a hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remained under CHP’s investigation.
