Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 780 Freeway in Benicia

 
BENICIA, CA (March 18, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed following a traffic collision Monday afternoon in Benicia.
 
The fatal collision happened around 1:25 p.m. along 780 Freeway near 680 Freeway.
 
Initial reports indicated a motorcycle rider traveling recklessly and crashed. A white pickup truck was recovered in the area, unknown if it was involved. Another vehicle had pulled to the shoulder of the freeway.
 
The unidentified rider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
A SigAlert was issued less that 30 minutes later as CHP officers established a traffic break through the crash scene. The coroner was also called to conduct a full report.
 
All lanes were open shortly after 3:15 p.m. but drivers experienced some residual delays.
 
Further investigation of this incident is underway.
