69-Year-Old Man of Fontana Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Baseline Street near University Parkway
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (January 28, 2018) – A Fontana man died after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday on Baseline Street near University Parkway according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner’s Division.
At about 4:55 AM, 69-year-old Ben Lira was walking on the eastbound lane of Baseline Street west of University Parkway when he was struck by a 1999 Infiniti Q45. Lira was pronounced dead at the scene.
The San Bernardino Police Department is investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the collision.
