Clovis, CA (September 12, 2024) – A Clovis mother is asking for the community’s help in finding the driver who hit her 15-year-old daughter, Bella Reynaud, while she was biking to school. 

Bella was running late and chose to ride down Nees Avenue instead of taking her usual bike trail. 

Ten minutes into her ride, Bella called her mother, Courtney, to report she had been in an accident.

Courtney rushed to the scene at Nees and Renn, where neighbors had already helped Bella with minor scrapes, though her bike was broken in two. 

Witnesses reported that a man in a dark green SUV hit Bella, checked his car, and then drove off without checking on her.

Clovis police indicated that if the driver had stopped and provided his information, it would have been classified as a traffic collision. 

However, the driver’s failure to stay makes it a misdemeanor hit-and-run.

Despite the incident, Bella wasn’t seriously hurt, possibly due to her gymnastics training, which helped her land safely. 

Bella urged cyclists to wear helmets and drivers to stay alert.
