Anthony Ryan Scott Arrested in Fatal Head-On Crash Near Hancock Avenue

Murrieta, CA (May 17, 2024) On Wednesday evening, 73-year-old Belinda Baliton of Murrieta died and 2 others were hurt in a horrific crash near Hancock Avenue.

According to the Murrieta Police Department, the suspected DUI crash happened at about 11:50 a.m. near the intersection of Hancock Avenue and Parkcrest Drive.

Reports say that Anthony Ryan Scott was driving a vehicle that veered onto the opposite lane and crashed head-on with a passenger car.

Medics say that Baliton was a passenger in the passenger car and suffered serious injuries due to the collision. The driver of the passenger car also suffered major injuries, while a passenger in Scott’s vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials say that all 3 injured patients were taken to the hospital. However, Baliton succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile. police arrested Scott on suspicion of DUI gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI resulting in great bodily injury. Scott is booked into the Byrd Detention Center on Thursday morning.
