Pickup Truck Overturns on 60 Freeway in Beaumont Killing the Driver
BEAUMONT, CA (May 8, 2019) – A woman was killed following a rollover crash Wednesday afternoon in Beaumont, according to CHP reports.
The crash was first reported around 12:48 p.m. on the eastbound side of 60 Freeway near Jack Rabbit Trail.
A white Ford pickup truck overturned through a chain link fence bordering the freeway and landed on its roof, trapping the female driver.
Responding fire crews tried to break through one of the truck’s windows to reach the woman inside, but the victim did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
The unrestrained driver was partially ejected onto the roadway and crushed by the overturned vehicle, CHP officials said.
No one else was in the truck, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Distraction, medical conditions and intoxication have not been ruled out as contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
