Beatriz Santiago and One Other Killed in Head-On Collision on 170th Street East in Llano

Two People Fatally Injured in Two-Car Crash near East Avenue S

 
LLANO, CA (May 7, 2018) – On Monday afternoon around 3:30 PM, two people were fatally Injured in a head-on collision on 170th Street East.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Beatriz Santiago of Palmdale was driving northbound on 170th St E, just south of East Avenue S. For unknown reasons, her 2013 Honda Accord swerved into the southbound lanes and crashed into a 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
 
Santiago’s vehicle came to a rest on the dirt shoulder, while the second vehicle overturned in a dirt field and burst into flames. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The male driver has not yet been identified, according to the coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
